Hello dear percussionists....

Dhaniah here. Guess it's my first time blogging here. I'd like to highlight some points.

Please take note of these. I don't wish to repeat. I actually don't choose to do this very systematically as it's all up to your initiative. In order to raise our standard, things have to work smoothly and you have to plan out before acting.

ESPECIALLY,
packing of scores. I hardly see sec2s packing files. Please co-operate. You know we don't wish to get scolded all the time. What's our goal? To raise the standard and be one of the best sections right? I need teamwork here. I'm glad you guys come for sectionals but what kills just to pack scores. That's more essential.
Okay, i don't wish to blabber any further. Just take note of these things.

Who to come down for sectionals when packing scores :
-Auxillaries
Miao Yun [in charge]
Peiyi [assistant]
Niva
Tammie

-Mallets
Zoey [in charge]
Suhaib [assistant]
Angie
Brendan

-Drums
Fatin [in charge ]
Rasyiqah [assistant]
Justin

-Timpani
Dhaniah [ in charge ]
Sophia [assistant]
Zetty

Note : For those who are in charge, take note of the members who didn't turn up to pack scores and it's your responsibility to make them attend as sectionals are now compulsory. Write down their names and hand them to me/Fatin.
Mondays will be the confirmed days of packing scores. Please update me right after finish packing. Everything ensure to be filed in on MONDAY.
For the assistants, if your leaders can't make it, you will have to take charge.
-Ensure all scores are inside
-write down the name of the songs that are missing
=your responsibility to photocopy the scores

The things you are supposed to do / carry when combined band or warm-up :

-Amirul, Justin, Brendan, Suhaib
assigned to carry drumset, bass drum and timpanis

- Zetty, Miao Yun,
assigned to set up stands, files, sticks. Likewise for band dismissal. Please move fast. When the other percussion members are bringing the other instruments inside, make sure the BOTH OF YOU stay in the music room and set up stands for each of the percussion instruments. Arrange them as well. If any of you is uncertain of the arrangement, you can approach me or fatin.

- Rasyiqah, Zoey, Peiyi
assigned to carry tubular bells, conga/bongo.

- Fatin, Dhaniah, Sophia, Niva, Angie
assigned to carry accessories box, windchimes, mallets+bells, cymbals, and other auxillaries if required.


For the sec1s audition, this will be the sequence,
1) a)4 quarter rhythm for first 5 rows
b) 6th row to the end
c) paradiddle
2)E flat, A flat, B flat, F scales.
3) Major scales
4) Chromatic scales
5) Interval studies

Please practise at home. We will be updating you the day of the audition. Those whom I've auditioned the first, you can move on the next one unless you've passed. If there're any changes, i will update you asap.

Reminder :
- Do not mess the shelf. Arrange them neatly. If Fatin or myself catch any of you misplacing the scores etc, punishment will be given.
-Bring 50 cents every practice for percussion fund

I understand it's a long post. I couldn't really put them in words since I was very exhausted earlier on. Anything you can text me :)
